our task was to learn what conjunctions are and how to use them in sentences.  task 1 we had to find out which word is a conjunction and colour it red. for our second task we had to write a conjunction and finish off the sentence .

super powers

If I had a superpower I  will have the ability to shapeshift. Shapeshifting is a super power that lets you turn into any human animal and many more living creatures. Illd like this power because if you are late for school i can turn into flash and get to school super fast.

We have been learning to find equivalent fractions. I have learnt that equivalent means the same as. So 4/8 is the same as 1/2.

term twos immersion assembly

Walt: write a detailed introduction with hook and orientation.
Have you ever seen your teacher on a hovercraft ? Well on the first day back from the holidays In our immersion assembly. Mr Sommerville had rode around on a homemade hovercraft.this is what happen.

The first thing that we did was line up and walk over to the hall, while our class was  standing  there we saw all the other classes  sitting up and getting sandwiches, cookies and carrot sticks  .Can You imagine that . Have you ever got free food at school before?

After everyone was settled down Mr Burt

told us what the topic was, and what it was about. Then team 1 did there item about eating healthy and keeping it clean.

Overall my thoughts of the assembly was great it made me feel pumped and ready for this years topic.

Liam is a 13 year old boy that lives in Auckland New Zealand. He likes playing computer games with his .

we were able to catch up with liam and ask him question about the christchurch earthquake.

Hi liam how has your life been affected by the christchurch earthquake?

My aunty uncle and two cousins live there and i'm worried about them because they might be hurt badly.  they were very nice and lovey.

Liam what would you do if an earthquake hit your city how would it affect you and your family.

it will be devastating because I wouldn't be able to play my favorite computer games and it would hurt me and my family.

Okay Liam this is our last question, how would you react in a horrible earthquake

i will run underneath my computer table and hold on really tight .

Anzac writing

For assembly we remembered the Anzac army that fort for New Zealand. That’s how come we stood in front of the field of remembrance.did you know that approximately 8000 men left New Zealand on ships, Thats the most people that left in one day.

Well today Mr Goodwin did,  he got us to hold our heads back like little hungry, baby birds. Let me explain.

Kakapo

Walt: look beyond the text.

A Kakapo is a green endangered bird that can live for  90 years and likes to eat fruits, seeds , bark bulbs , leaves stems and roots and Kakapos love to play also the Kakapo is the heaviest parrot and possibly the oldest living parrot in the world.

Our Task for was to write a blog post, using the book .We had to Read the instructions carefully, and make sure we read the whole story in full, We also had to read the Questions and had to Complete the tasks in order.We needed to try to explain to the read What is a kakapo What kind of food do kakapo like to eat What are kakapo like 3 interesting facts about a kakapo  Write an explanation about why it is important to help protect kakapos.

Duffy recount

 Follow the structure of a recount to write about a holiday highlight. 

On Monday all the students in Years 5-8 went to see the Duffy show , the show was to encourage the students to read  and has played all around the world.

As we walk in to the hall and sat down. I saw Sienna playing simon say while everybody else came in. Then Duffy came in and  Sienna one of  the actor explained the rule . then the show began . My favourite part of the show was when Sienna was a fairy singing a funny song , and when they played the bit of harry potter and pulled out the screaming baby plants.  By the end of the show Antonia realised she liked reading, her new found interest was gardening.

After the show we lined up and went back to class said goodbye to the teachers,  and went home.

The show made me feel excited about reading . I recommend the to all kids in New Zealand  



In this task we had to write a recount about the Duffy show, we had use to interesting words, exciting adjectives and as much detail as I can.

My group meaning

I have learnt a lot of facts about paua shells and how to put a boarder around my presentation.I also learnt about the crop and mask tool and to make a white back look awesome.
